Our college is the only single faculty Science college of Mumbai University. Our students mainly inclined at Science which aims at the discovery of causes and regularities in the physical world, in other words at objective truth. But to mold the students as socially aware citizens, they should also understand the way things appear to us,
matter to us, and have significance for us which is the aim of literature. When Science and literature go hand in hand, it helps the overall development of students.
From year 1976 our college is publishing “Sanyuja” magazine, which depicts literary as well as scientific aspect of students. From year 2012, we also published e-Sanyuja, which are available on our website.
We encourage and persuade the students to express their feelings, emotions, sentiments through articles, stories, poems, jokes etc.
Students are also keen on presenting cartoons and photographs. While selecting the articles the utmost care is taken to make the balance
among science, literature and entertainment. We conduct different competitions like essay writing, love letter, story writing, cartooning
and cover page. We also encourage students to take interviews of eminent persons which help them to develop skill of reporting. Students
manage all the activities of magazine starting from writing articles, cover page, typing, proof correction to publication. We are proud
to say that response of students is overwhelming, which shows grooming of students to become rational thinkers, competent workers and
socially aware citizens. Together with students, our teachers also contribute to “Sanyuja” by writing articles on new trends and research
in Science, which help the students to gear up to compete with International standards, and make them fit to face impact of globalization.
Sanyuja provides the platform to enhance academic as well as artistic skills. It shows the path of success to students by augmenting
scientific and artistic talent. It fulfills academic as well as sentimental, emotional demands of students.
