PRINCIPAL'S DESK:
 

The diverse people from varied sectors are discussing about education in India. Lot of discussions / Seminars / Conferences are conducted on current education system & changes needed to be done. The system of education is undergoing the phase of change to complete with international standards and it is evident that a new Era is bound to arise in the education system which will be as competent as international standards.
 
 Very soon we will see the effect of globalization in education and I feel that our college students should be ready to compete with the same.

In job market there is tough competition and hence students have to be geared up to face the competition. To make them competent we have many programmes academic as well as co-curricular.

Our vision is “Imparting Quality Education in Science” and our mission is “To Mould students in to Rational Thinkers, Competent workers and Socially aware citizen”.And accordingly we plan our activities. We believe in developing the overall personality of our students.

There are 12 Departments and total 28 courses of which 13 courses are at undergraduate level while 5 courses at Post-graduation level. We also have 5 courses of M.Sc. (by research) and 5 Ph.D. programmes.

Our calender is ready in the month of April and displayed on the website before the academic year starts. There are many activities like sports, cultural, essay,quize competitions and many more programmes which are conducted in college. But in addition we cater for inculcating the research attitude and aptitude among the students. They are guided for small research projects, writing research papers. We publish e-journal named JBNB. Research conferences at State / National level are organized every year on various topics related to syllabi. Journal club & movie club activities are conducted, so that students get exposed to good research publications.

Along with academic programmes we run many short term skill oriented and job oriented programmes too. NCC, NSS and DLLE units are actively functional.

Our students bring laurels to the college by getting ranks in academics at University level as well as winning prizes in extra curricular activities.

Our institute is all geared up to face the impacts of globalization with “A” grade of NAAC, Best college awards at University level, receiver of FIST grants at National level and In March 2015 we have been honoured with "Commendation Certificate" from Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award in Education Sector. B.N.Bandodkar College of Science is the only single faculty science college running the courses from XIth standard till Ph.D.
