Dr.V.V.Bedekar's Message for MMS 2006-07

I am proud that BRIMS is entering the second year of its existence. In the very first year of its operations, there was a remarkable demand for the MMS program and we could easily attract 60 students. A commendable feat indeed.

The year that has passed, has seen remarkable achievements followed by an accolade from no less a person than Shri.N.R.Narayana Murthy. The achievements cut across many dimensions – academic rigor and excellence, students activities, seminars, workshops, research publications, Dr.V N Bedekar Memorial Research Volume. The faculty and staff of Dr.V N BRIMS have risen to the occasion and put in all their mite, under the dynamic stewardship of Dr.Guruprasad Murthy, Director, Dr.VNBRIMS.

The series of publications in a short span of one year and the proactive reception of one and all, to the same, is validation of the quality and quantity of activities at Dr.VNBRIMS. The faculty and staff have voluntarily established quality norms for executing day to day activities and have vouched the need for newer and better services. The quality manual, prepared by the staff and faculty of Dr.VNBRIMS bears eloquent testimony to the keen interest they have taken in evolving and developing an institution which we can boast of as a role model in the future, nay near future.

As Chairman of Vidya Prasarak Mandal, we pledge to offer the best of infrastructure, quality education and work place which will protect the fraternity assuring the dignity of every individual. I am enthralled by what Shri.N.R.Narayana Murthy had to say about Vidya Prasarak Mandal's Dr.BRIMS during a keynote address in a BRIMS seminar on 'Challenges for Indian Multinationals' on 17th May, 2006 at Thorale Bajirao Peshwe Sabhagruha, Thane College Campus. To quote Shri. N. R. Narayana Murthy “You have to showcase a wonderful role model in creating excellent institutions like this”.

Dr.VNBRIMS now has recognition from Government of Maharashtra for new programs viz. One year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Business Management (PGDPBM), Two year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM). Dr. VNBRIMS also offers a part time Two year Management program namely the Executive Master's in Business Administration (EMBA). We have also sought AICTE support and acceptance for these MSBTE recognized programs. Such an accreditation and support validates the benchmarks adopted by BRIMS and should offer society at large an opportunity to pursue quality management education at Thane Campus.

I congratulate the entire BRIMS team for their commendable contributions in the year of inception and hope that they will continue to exceed the increasing expectations of society from all stakeholders of management education in particular and education World in general.

I am confident that with increased and improved support from all stakeholders of BRIMS, we will be able to serve the cause of education with greater vigor and rigor than ever before.
