Vidya Prasarak Mandal honours Prof. S.S. Mujumdar

Saturday the 29th May 2004, the members of V.P.M., Heads of the V.P.M. Institutions and respective departments gathered to bid farewell to Prof. S.S. Mujumdar who completed his eighteen years of illustrious services as the Principal of their popular accredited polytechnic, members were of all praise for his dedicated and selfless services to the society in establishing and managing a fine institute.  

Prof. S.W. Gokhale recalled his association with the polytechnic with  Prof. S.S. Mujumdar being the founder fulltime Principal.

Prof. Mrs. M.K. Pejavar remembered him as role model for others.  She was full of praise for the kind of discipline inculcated among the students and staff of polytechnic.

Mrs. Srividya J. the Incharge Principal of Law College recounted her brief but effective association with the Principal.  

Prof. M.S. Pathak Librarian of B.N. Bandodkar Science College recollected some of the memories of long association with Prof. S.S. Mujumdar and wished him a healthy and happy retired life.

Mr. M.Y. Gokhale treasurer of V.P.M. and Chairman of Thane Bharat Sahakari Bank mentioned that retirement is just a matter of change of life style.  He recounted that he could complete his LLM after retirement and suggested  Prof. S.S. Mujumdar to come back to pursue his hobbies and develop interest in areas of his choice.  He requested him to visit polytechnic to deliver teaching in different subjects as post retirement activity.

Dr. Vijay Bedekar, Chairman of Vidya Prasarak Mandal appreciated the efforts taken by the Principal in the development of polytechnic.  He also welcomed Mr. D.K. Nayak who will be succeeding Prof. S.S. Mujumdar at the polytechnic.

Prof. Mrs. Usha Raghavan did the programme comparing.  Mrs. N.V. Vader read the transcript of citation presented to Prof. S.S. Mujumdar by the V.P.M.  Mrs. V.A. Joshi conveyed the vote of thanks for organising such a grand function in the honour of retirement of Prof. S.S. Mujumdar.
