INAGURATION OF BIOTECHNOLOGY LABORATORY

ON DATED 17 ^TH SEPTEMBER 2008

Last Wednesday Dr. Mrs. Neelima Joshi (Vice President, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals) gave inaugural lecture entitled “ Avenues in Biotechnology” in B. N. Bandodkar college of Science, Thane. This was the special day when a piece of the knowledge island in the name of Biotechnology department was wrested. Since last year, bachelors' course in Biotechnology and from this year Bachelors' in Microbiology is announced in this college. Recently ,in the new crowd pure science is less appreciated ,as a result of which professional courses had become the area of sticking career interest.

Although ,Dr. Neelima Joshi has an established reputation in area of Biotechnology ,She had chosen microbiology for her academic studies. In a well- informed account of varieties of therapeutics Dr. Neelima Joshi expressed well -reasoned specticism about the Avenues/Scopes in Biotechnology .As science will require a continuing significant growth ,Principal Dr. Mrs.M.K Pejawar had set-up all long term goals for the institution and positively putting additions to the “Ora of Science”.
