Academics

1. Mrs Nayana Raut completed her Ph.D. from Mumbai University under the guidance of Prin. Dr. (Mrs.) M.K. Pejaver.
2. Mr. Amol Patwardhan completed his Ph.D. From University of Mumbai under the guidance of Dr. R. P. Athalye.
3. Mr. Aniket Daptardar received M. Sc. Degree by research under the guidence of Dr.N.S. Tekale.
4. Mr. Mahendra Gupta from M.Sc.II secured 9th rank in the aptitude test conducted by Indian Chemical Society.
5. Miss. Chetana Shetty and Mr. Ajit Kumbhar were awarded state scholarship for G.E.E. examination conducted by Wadia college, Pune.
6. Research Project of Ms. Gayatri Sagade was selected for the final round from Thane District in the competition held by University Of Mumbai for Avishkar 2008.
7. Two students of M.Sc. Part I Mr. Sanjay Sawant and Miss Shrutika Dighe received financial assistance from University of Mumbai.
8. In Inter collegiate quiz competition on 'Zoovita' on 22nd Sept 07 at Ratnam College, Bhandup Ms Nilofer Mulla (TYBSc) Zoology, on "Bioterrorism". Nilofur received first prize and Ms. Sonal Salvi along with Ms Gayatri Oak bagged third prize.
9. Ms. Rubina Rodrigue and Ms. Archana Adkar, S.Y.B.Sc(CZ), won first prize in intercollegiate quiz contest on general biology organized by S.I.E.S. college, Sion, on 17th Nov. and In same contest, Mr. Abhishek Rane and Mr. Sujit More,S.Y.B.Sc.(BZ) won second prize.
10. Mrs. Roshan D'souza (Ph.D.) Zoology student presented her poster on "Evaluation of short and long duration treatment effect of Lytta vesicatoria (coleoptera) extract on gonads of male albino rat" at "Avishkar 2008" an Inter University Research Festival on 28th Nov 2007.

       Participation in Various conferences/ Seminars

1. Ms Swarika Tiwari from SYBSc (CZ) gave a power point presentation on "Probiotics" in a competition at Jhunjhunwala College, Ghatkopar on 7th July 07.
2. Ms Sushma Thakan from SYBSc and Ms Sonal Salvi from TYBSc Zoology gave a power point presentation on "Global Climate Changes" on 14th July 07.
3. Mr.Sonesh Kamble, SYBSc (BZ) gave a power point presentation on "Role of Biology in Disaster Management".
   
4. Ms Manasi Patil, Mr.Manish Pawar (T.Y.B.Sc, Zoology), Ms. Amruta Belhekar and Ms. Swati Devkar(S.Y.B.Sc,CZ) participated in Luminescence Quiz contest and Poster Presentation on 11th Sept. at Mithibhai College, Vile Parle.
5. Ms Rani Singh participated in the International Medicinal and Aromatic plants Conference on Culinary Herbs organised by AU/ISHS on 29th April to 4th May 2007.
6. Ms. Vishakha Shingala, Ph.D. student participated in poster presentation organized by Enviro vigil, NGO, Thane, on 2nd Feb. 08.
7. Nine students of T.Y.B.Sc Zoology and seven students of S.Y.B.Sc.attended Panda festival organized by WWF Mumbai from 10th -12th Dec. 2007.
8. Nine students of T.Y.B.Sc Zoology attended the Workshop on Frontiers in Biosciences at Sophia college, Mumbai on 29th & 30th Nov. 2007
9. Thirty students of T.Y.B. Sc. Zoology attended a course on 'Update in Clinical chemistry' at Thyrocare Turbhe, Navi Mumbai on 26th & 27th Nov 2007.
   
10. Twenty students of Statistics participated in the interactive program conducted by 'Sankhyiki' at the Ruia College on 1st &2nd Dec.2007.
    
11. Two students of F.Y. B.Sc. attended Maths Olympiad at I.I.T. Powai on 2nd Feb 2008.

Cultural Activities

1. Miss Vinantee Mhatre

• Secured 1st place in mono acting Group A at inter collegiate cultural competition of Zone IV organized by Department of Students' Welfare University of Mumbai. She secured 6 prizes in various competitions.
• 1st prize in acting in a competition held by Navayuvak Durga Mandal and Gangamai Sugar Industry Ltd. Ghatnandra Dist. Aurangabad.
• 1st prize in acting in 55th Drama festival 2007-08 of Maharashtra Kamgar Kalyan Mandal at Lalit Kala Bhavan, Worli Mumbai.
• 2nd prize as Best Actress in a zonal competition Kalarag Horizon 08 held by Ramrao Adik Institution of technology on 29th Feb and 1st Mar. 2008

2. Miss Rufina Rodriues, Miss Harshada Adkar and Mr. Sujit Mors bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in a quiz competition organized by SIES College Mumbai on 27 th Nov 2007.

Literary Association

• Ms.Smita Yeole and Ms. Sunita Yewale participated in ' Minoo Mullah Memorial' Inter Collegiate Essay Competition & in the Essay Competition held by `Anti Corruption Bureau Maharastra' & Public Concern For Governance Trust.
  
• Four Students participated in N.E.S's Ratnam College Inter Collegiate Recitation & Story Telling Competition and three students viz Ms. Pournima Sonawne [2nd Rank ] Ms.Ankita Vichare [2nd Rank ] and Mr.Pravin Chavan [ 3rd Rank] got the prizes.
  
• Mr. Pratik Khanvilkar, Mr.Ajay Kadhare and Mr. Gaurav Gosrani participated in Smt Pushparani Prithviraj Singh Intercollegiate Quiz Competition.
  
• Ms.Gayatri Oak Ms. Tripti Kini Ms. Ekta Doke & Ms. Pournima Sonavane participated in Late N.G Panditrao Smriti Elocution Competition.
  
• Ms.Trupti Kini participated in Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan's Intercollegiate Essay Competition.
  
• Ms.Akshada Koli, Ms. Shalaka Deshpande and Ms.Ankita Gurav participated in Essay Competition held by Anti Dowry Movement Bombay.
• Ms. Gayatri Oak. participated in Late Jugaldas Damodar Modi Momento Inter Collegiate Competition Conducted by R. J. College.
• Ms. Akshada Koli participated in Open Essay Writing Competition Held by Conserv Solution.

  Group Achievements:

• Our Degree college team was Third in Thane District Zone, Cricket tournament.
• Our cricket team won Trophy at Dimensions 2007 , organized by KET's V.G. Vaze College of Arts , Science and Commerce , Mulund ( East ).
• Our Junior college Girls team was runner up in Badminton Tournaments organized by Zilla Parishad.

1. Mr Lucky Kharkar from Naval wing of the NCC was selected to visit 14 different countries by the Defence Ministry of India
   
2. Rutika Ghatge(T.Y.B.Sc) won gold medal in firing.
   
3. Mr.Rishikesh Joshi from 1 Maharashtra Naval unit Mumbai attended the Advance Leadership Camp between 22nd Dec 2007 to 2nd Jan 2008 in Tamilnadu.
