Vivekanand Study Circle has been inaugura ted in our college with the collaboration of Vivekanand Kendra Kanyakumari. (Thane Branch)

• The basic objectives of this study circle are to motivate and inspire the students to inculcate Swami Vivekanandas invaluable thought "Man making and Nation Building."

• To make the students optimistic, self dependent, co-operative and patriotic by unfolding and channelising their infinite latent energy and potentiality.

Following activities were conducted for the achievement of above mentioned objectives.

An Orientation programme was conducted on 9th September 2008 to make students aware of rules and regulations of the State Level Camp 'Vijay Poorna Vijay'.

An Entrance test was conducted on 21st Sep 2008 based on the book "Vijay Poorna Vijay" incorporating Vivekanand's thoughts and ideals. 40 students cleared the test. Highest marks (83%) was obtained by Adesh Dadarao Mule of SYBCOM.

One day workshop was organised on 18th Oct 2008 to train the students for One Day Camp.

One day camp was organized on 15th Dec 2008. Various sessions of Yoga, Meditation, Vedic Mantras were conducted. Group Discussion and Special games were conducted to increase confidence and concentration. All activities left the participants with full of vigour and beaming with energy.

11 students of our college were selected for State Level Camp, students attended the camp from 31st Dec 08 to 4th Jan 09 at Shegaon, Buldhana (Dist.)

Vivekanand Birth Anniversary was celebrated on 14th Jan 2009. On this occasion Mr. Shriram Agashe, an active member of Vivekanand Kendra and ex-professor of Somaiya Engineering College was the Chief Guest. He delivered the speech on 'Vivekanand - A Yuva Shakti'.

Our study circle has now started a regular session of Yoga and Meditation Group Discussion and practice of book review are conducted weekly.
