Department of Philosophy got recognition for research centre in the year 1997. As a result of which 5 students have registered for Ph.D. One student Dr.Namita Nimbalkar completed her Ph.D under the guidance of Dr.(Mrs.)Shakuntala A Singh.

Centre also got permission to start "M.A by research" in 2006. Our centre has conducted various lectures and programme all these years to give the guidance to research students. In this year two international philosophers were called to deliver the lectures on two important issues in Philosophy.

The details about the programmes are as follows: -

· On 20th Dec 2008 Prof Philip Clayton (California- U.S.A) addressed students on the theme of "Pantheism and Panentheism"

· On 10th Feb. Prof.Puligandla (Toledo Ohio.U.S.A) delivered a lecture on the theme of Consciousness, Science & Philosophy in the light of Advaitic Vedanta."

Both the speakers were fellow scholars of I.C.P.R. We thank I.C.P.R for making these scholars available to us.
