its fourth year with its ever increasing arena & with the vision
of the institution to make our students self reliant, competitive
& more confident to take up the challenges of the world the
activities were planned & conducted.
This year various activities were
conducted for improving the communication skills of the students as
well as to develop their personalities.
The first seminar was conducted in the
month of June 2008 on " Business Communication Skills" in
the joint coordination with Career Launcher. There was an
overwhelming response from the students. Interactive sessions made
the programme very interesting &
students took home the message in forms of 5 words which mattered a
lot to the students viz. " positively", certainly",
"definitely", "surely" and "of
course".
The second seminar was conducted in the
month of July 2008 in coordination with Career Launcher on the
various techniques necessary for equipping students to face the
interview which included
presentation on
1) Resume Writting
2) Group Discussion
3 )Personal Interview
The students found this seminar to be of
immense value and a large number of students attended the same so
much so that not only
was entire Katyayan full but also many students had been adjusted to
the adjacent classes. Approximately 500 students attended the said
program. The speakers Mr. Amit Deshmukh, Mr. D'Souza and Mr.
Dipanjan Das were instrumental in giving an effective lecture added with power point presentation on
'Dos and Dont's' of resume writting which was followed by group
discussion sessions. Mock interviews were conducted to make the
students aware of the challenges that they would face in actual
interview.
This seminar was thoroughly appreciated by
one and all. The feedback from the students was taken who reported
the seminar to be of immense value to them and they were more
confident to face the future.
The third seminar on resume writing and
personal interview was conducted for self-finance students of our
college which was also attended by many students. The speaker Mr.
Nandkumar Bhujbal was able to drive in his presentation the most
lucid manner, the various Dos and Don’ts of resume writing which
was applauded by the students.
The next programme was conducted in
coordination with HCL education (Pvt) Ltd. on communication skills
and business etiquettes on 17th Dec
2008. The speaker Mr. Nirav Jain Manager (HCL) was instrumental in
explaining the various business etiquettes as followed in the
corporate world. The seminar received good response and nearly 190
students took advantage of the same.
The next workshop was conducted by in joint
coordination with GEEBEE Education Pvt. Ltd. on 12th Jan 2009 on
Education Abroad. In the topic was of immense interest to those
students who had the dream to pursue higher education outside
India
. The speakers highlighted various educational opportunities
available overseas. A brief introduction was given on various
entrance tests like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, ETC. The speaker also
informed all about the financial assistance available from the banks
to pursue higher education.
The ongoing recession and slowdown in the
various industries had an overall impact on our campus placement and
no campus placement could be undertaken in the current year.
Much needs to be done to make the students
competitive to face the challenges of the world but we are confident
to face the same with the guidance of our able Principal who has
always been our strength in guiding through the storm water. We
would formally like to place on record our sincere thanks to our
Principal Dr. Mrs. S.A. Singh, our Vice Principals Dr. Padmini Murti
and Prof. Bhat who supported our activities. We take this
opportunity to thank them formally for the same. It would not have
been possible to carry on various activities of the Placement Cell
without active cooperation from Ms. Gayatri Kumar our placement
secretary. I would also like to place on record sincere thanks to
Ms. Gayatri and other Students Council members who have contributed
directly or indirectly to the activities of the Placement Cell.

Deven Khandekar goes to
Japan
Through Student Exchange Programme! (in his own words!)
Hi friends! My name is Deven Khandekar
studing in our college in S.Y.B.A. ‘C’ division. I just want to
share one good news with you. I got 100% scholarship for going to
Japan through Student Exchange Programme.
Actually I am a “Priest” by profession.
After completing my 5 years course in “Paurohitya” from “Gurukul.”
I really wanted to do something different. Then I decided to learn
Japanese language. Specifically Japanese because I heard a lot about
Japanese script and people and their never to give up attitude.
Japanese language have 3 scripts 1) Hiragana
2) Katakana 3)
Kanji
Hiragana is used only for original Japanese
words, katakana for Roman words and kanji means picture language.
I truly believe that if we want to learn any
language just try to use it from basic level when we start to speak
any foreign language, we are not only getting meaning of that but
also we can understood their feelings; expression and the beauty of
language. Passing the examination and good scores are important but
they never improve your speaking skills. For conveying our feelings
we have to apply the language.
I learned Japanese from many teachers but
specially I want to thank Hamami Sensei means (Madam). Beshyo
sensei, Sarita Sensei and Gokhale Sensei without them I would not
have improved my self.
In one month duration program I will stay at
Kansai
University
in
Osaka
. I will visit many
places like
Kyoto
- the cultural city Toktyo, the capital city of
Japan Hiroshima
and
Nagasaki
, the heritage city and many museums library, festivals and
ceremonies.
I will learn there how to express language
more fluently, their lifestyle and their world class famous
caligraphy, Origami, Ikebana and Judo.
I am a representative of
India
.
Maharashtra
and specially Mumbai so I will tell them about oun Indian culture,
family and education system, the difference between Urban and rural
lifestyle.
So friends now time to leave but if you have
any kind of queries regarding Japanese or Paurohitya without
hesitation contact me. Sayanora.
