Making young children aware of the environment & instilling our culture and values in their tender minds go a long way in securing our future with fine citizens. Hence, all the festivals were celebrated in our traditional way, BUT with a difference. Every festival carried a social message, which had a great impact on young minds.

Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated on 25th July 2008 by planting saplings followed by tying 'Rakhis' to the trees, thus pledging to protect them on Rakshabandhan Day, which was celebrated on 14th August 2007.

Children enjoyed and actively participated in Ganpati Celebrations. They were also educated as to why eco- friendly clay Ganpati idols should be worshipped during the week long Ganpati Festival between 10th September & 13th September 2007.

Likewise Nag Panchami (17th August 2007) Gokulashtami (3rd September 2007) and Diwali (1st November 2007) were also celebrated amidst fun and joy thereby learning to be friendly and living in harmony.

Along with all the festivals, National Days like Independence Day (14th August 2007) and Gandhi Jayanti (1st October 2007) were celebrated with great reverence in order to instill a sense of patriotism in children.

Shriram Borkar, a well-known writer in Thane literary circle, shared his views on the ancient concept of ' Vaanaprasthashram' relating it today as 'attached - detachment' i.e. tactful involvement of the grandparents in their respective families.
