Pre- Primary
Section
I Term Report (2007
-2008):
The
school re -opened on 11th June 2007 after the summer vacation.
Our enthusiastic teachers eagerly welcomed our tiny tots with
lots of interesting activities.
The
new group of Jr. KG parents were given a warm welcome on 13th
June 2007 and introduced to our methodologies and our staff members
and made familiar with the school.
Activity
based workshops were held for our Jr. KG Parents on 7th July 2007
& 14th July 2007 wherein our teachers demonstrated our teaching
methods.
Making
young children aware of the environment & instilling our culture
and values in their tender minds go a long way in securing our
future with fine citizens. Hence, all the festivals were celebrated
in our traditional way, BUT with a difference. Every festival
carried a social message, which had a great impact on young minds.
Ashadhi
Ekadashi was celebrated on 25th July 2008 by planting saplings
followed by tying 'Rakhis' to the trees, thus pledging to protect
them on Rakshabandhan Day, which was celebrated on 14th August
2007.
Children
enjoyed and actively participated in Ganpati Celebrations. They
were also educated as to why eco- friendly clay Ganpati idols
should be worshipped during the week long Ganpati Festival between
10th September & 13th September 2007.
Likewise
Nag Panchami (17th August 2007) Gokulashtami (3rd September 2007)
and Diwali (1st November 2007) were also celebrated amidst fun
and joy thereby learning to be friendly and living in harmony.
Along
with all the festivals, National Days like Independence Day (14th
August 2007) and Gandhi Jayanti (1st October 2007) were celebrated
with great reverence in order to instill a sense of patriotism
in children.
First
Observation was conducted from 22nd October 2007 to 31st October
2007.
I
Term came to an end and the school closed for Diwali Vacation
from
2nd November 2007.
This
year two of our teachers Mrs. Priti Kulkarni and Mrs. Aparna Varudkar
presented a research paper 'Language Development Programme in
Pre- School - Teacher's Perspective' at 13th Maharashtra Bal Shikshan
Parishad held in Thane on 17th November 2007 during Diwali Vacation.
Their presentation was well received by the huge audience. Some
of our teachers even conducted workshops in Maths, Project and
Dramatics. It was a very good learning experience for all of us.
II Term Report
(2007 -2008)
School
re-opened on 21st November 2007 after the Diwali Vacation.
Fancy
Dress Day was held on 28th November 2007 with the children dressing
up in various fancy costumes and performing before their friends
and teachers.
Children
enjoyed their picnic to Shraddha Garden on 30th November 2007
(Sr. KG) and 7th December 2007 (Jr. KG).
Grand
Parents are our strongest support system. In order to acknowledge
their invaluable contribution in a child's formative years, we
felicitated them on Grandparents Day on 20th December 2007. They
were given a traditional welcome at the entrance and presented
with beautiful photo frames made by their grandchildren. Our guest
speaker Shri. Shriram Borkar, a well-known writer in Thane literary
circle, shared his views on the ancient concept of ' Vaanaprasthashram'
relating it today as 'attached - detachment' i.e. tactful involvement
of the grandparents in their respective families. The programme
was very much appreciated by all the senior citizens.
Christmas
was celebrated on 24th December 2007 with the children singing
and dancing with the Santa Claus.
We
teachers are always eager to expand our horizons of knowledge.
This year all the Pre -Primary teachers visited Dakshinamurti
Bal Mandir at Bhavnagar - Gujrat (from 24th December 2007 to 27th
December 2007), which is the pioneer institute to follow the Montessori
Methods of teaching young children. Visiting different schools
and interacting with other teachers give us new ideas to make
our lessons more interesting.
The
Sr. KG children immensely enjoyed their first experience of Campfire
and Overnight Stay in school on 12th January 2008.
Annual
Social Gathering was held on 2nd February 2008 wherein our Sr.
KG children presented a variety entertainment programme for their
parents.
An
Exhibition of our teaching aids & children's Art/ Craft work
was arranged on 14th February 2008.
Activity
Day was held on 23rd February wherein our Jr. KG children made
their first stage appearance with songs & dances and were
applauded by their parents & teachers.
The
lesson on 'Currency' was put into practice by buying and selling
various things made by the children at the 'Market' arranged by
our Sr. KG children on 29th February 2008. It was a very good
learning experience for them.
Annual
Observation was conducted from 25th March 2008 to 9th April 2008
and their results were handed over to the parents on 26th April
2008.
Apart
from all these activities, Field Trips to interesting places and
Educative and Informative film shows were arranged to give our
children a variety of first hand experiences to make learning
more enjoyable. This year, we have added a new activity in our
long list of enjoyable activities namely 'Water Play' wherein
our children enjoy playing in water in portable swimming tanks.
Along with ' Water Play' two more new things have been introduced
in our Sr. KG Section namely - a Felicitation Certificate and
a Group Photo have been given to all our Sr. KG children to keep
their memories of their Pre- Primary years evergreen.
Our
teachers have also prepared various lessons on the Smart Board
and are all geared up to introduce the new technique of teaching
to our children in the next academic year.
Foreign
delegates from China & UK visited our Pre- primary section
in the month of December 2007 and February 2008 and were very
impressed with our methods of teaching.
The
Term came to an end on 30th April 2008. School closed for Summer
Vacation from 2nd May 2008.
Overall
it was a very satisfying year full of activities enjoyed by both
the teachers and children alike.

Sagar Ranade bagged second place organised by Inner Wheel Clubof

school chess competition at

Narendra Chikte secured three bronze medals Sarvesh Desai secured
two bronze medal .Ashish Mulay secured two bronze medals in karate
competition organised by Sharanam Budokan Karate Centre.
6.Baskerball
Boys under 14 team won !st match in inter school tounament at
Vashi District level.
7.Athletics
Miss.Mithila Rao selected for state level in 100mt. & 200mt.running.
8.Cricket
Saurabh Gaikwad selected for 'Samna Karandak'. & Thane District
cricket team.Kapil Temghare selected for 'elf ' team & Mumbai

Cultural
Activities:
Various
Cultural Activities being organized in the secondary division
of Dr.Bedekar Vidya Mandir.
- Welcoming
the students coming from primary section to std V by giving
them sweets
- The students
of the school are offered best wishes through letters giving
by their class teachers on their birthdays.
- In order
to induce the students to write each class prepares concise
handwritten magazines. These magazines are prepared by 5th to
10th A, 5th to10th B for all divisions
- Wall magazines
are prepared for Marathi, Hindi, English and Science. So as
to give scope to the latent(hidden) writing talents of the students.
- Since
annual gathering covers limited students, so that head master
and teachers can have a dialogues with them.
- Through
the above meeting between teachers and parents discussion take
place on the subjects of mutual interests like expectations
from teachers and parents from each others to solve students
problems. Thus forum gives opportunity to start various activities
for the progress of the students.
- Various
physical work oriented camps are organized to impress upon students
the important of head work. Camps for scout and guides and M.C.C.
were taken at various locations like Shantiven near Mammoli,Yeoor,
Badlpur etc.
- As a contribution
for social work the students of scouts/ guide wing helped the
devotes coming to Kaupineshwar Mandir on Shrawan Monday, in
Vivakanand Parikrama. Students of our school have been trained
to control the traffic on various occasions.
- Fund rising
is essential in social work. Our students and teachers have
been raising the funds for Red Cross day etc. The list of funds
raised for various others organization is given separately.
- Every
year our students and teachers visit "Vanawasi Vivekanand
Balak Ashram" at year on the occasion of "Reksha Bandhan"
Girls tie Rakhees made by themselves to children in the Ashram,
give them refreshments and sweets useful commodities like wall
clock, water storage drums, matter shelves stove and many other
things were given to them.
- Our students
and teachers have prepared Rakhees and have conducted to sales
prior to Raksha-Bandhan for the recent 5-6 years. About 2to3
thousand Rakhees have been prepared and sold each year.
- Various
exhibitions are essential for the development of skills and
personality development. Exhibitions of Drawing and Painting,
Rangoli, Diwali Lanterns, various handicrafts etc. have attracted
children and parents. We have also conducted book exhibitions
and have also conducted book exhibitions and Science and Geography
exhibitions in our school.
- School
has conducted educational excursions to various places like
cancer Research Center B.A.R.C. Hafkin Institute,Worli and Aarey
milk dairies, Nehru Science Kosabad, Dahanu, Rubber factory,
Aquarium Museum, Mumbai Natural History Societies Museum Sanjay
Gandhi National part at Boriwali, Tungareshwar, Karnala, Bharatpur
(Rjasthan) Gir(Saurshtra)sanctuaries and various other places.
- Various
lectures, film show slide shows were arranged in the school
to educate them about subject like adolescence diseases like
aide, cancer, leprosy, t.b, dental care hygiene, population
growth, historical events, places like forts in maharashtra,
total solar eclipse and other natural events etc. have not only
educated students but the teacher also
- Teacher's
organization for Marathi, mathematics science and geography
have conducted many sessions and seminars in our school. Hundreds
of teachers from thane district have participated on such occasion.
- Our children
have visited banks, post offices etc. to study they're working.
They deposit their small saving regularly in post office small
savings scheme. Some of our teachers are of great help to them
in this regard
- Various
competitions make the children active and make their personality
rich. Our children have taken part and excelled even on the
state level in many of them. They are Drawing, Drama, and Individual
Acting. One act plays, Individual and Group singing (chorus),
instrumental music, Marathon races and various seasonal competitions
in physical activities Karate, Yoga competitions, Various elocution
competitions, Essay competition, Memorization of Geeta, Geetai
Paintings and essay competition on the occasion of wild life
week, save the environment movement etc.
- Our 10th
class student collect substantial amount of grain (wheat, rice
etc.) and pulses at the beginning of their special summer training
session. It is donated to various Aashram school in the interior
Thane District conducted by "Vanavasi kalyan Kendra"
at place like Dabhon, Vikramgadh,Mamnoli, Yeoor etc. Regular
teaching of the subject and introductory lectures of renowned
teachers in Thane and Thane district and Mumbai are arranged
for the students for 4 to 5 weeks between 3rd weeks of April
to 3rd week of May.
