v     Annual Examination of Std IX commenced from 11th March 2006 and continued till 24th March 2006 & of Std V to VIII commenced on 27th March till 7th April 2006. The results of Std IX were declared on 10th April 2006 and of Std. V to VIII on 28th April 2006. Std X classes started from 12th April to 1st May 2006.       Dec.2005

 

11. Troop of 19 scouts of our school represented Maharashtra State in National Melava

      (Jambhori) held at Haridwar. Following are the highlights of this event : -

 

      Features –

1)     Jambhori commenced from 16th to 22nd October 2005

2)     30,000 students from 43 Organisations/Instituition from all over India, Bhutan, Srilanka, Bangladesh. etc. attended Jambhori. Out of which 3747 scouts and guides were from Maharashtra State.

3)     Maharashtra’s participation in various National Level competitions and events was appreciated.    

 

4)     Maharashtra State bagged 24 prizes in various competitionsand events. Details are –

- Guide wing bagged 1st and Scout wing bagged 2nd prize at the National Level. This

  was for the first time that Maharashtra State had achieved this success.

          - Participants of Thane District bagged 1st prize in Colour Party at National level.

          - Sub-camp No.13, 14, 15 from Maharashtra state received prize for cleanliness.

          - Sub-camp No.15 of Thane District achieved extraordinary success in Adventure camps.

      5) Students from our school were selected as representatives of Maharashtra state in 

          March past.

 

12. Our science project  “Hydroponics” was selected at national level & was declared as “Best

      Project in Maharashtra State”. At national level at Bhuvaneshwar also our project was

      ranked as the best project & has been selected for documentation film. The same project  

      was also presented by Prachi Joshi at Hydrabad for Young Scientists Conference!

      Participants were Nikita Shah-group leader, Prachi Joshi, Tanuj Nabar, Sahil Kanekar &  

      Harshal Gade. This was organized by National Children’s science Congress 2005.

 

13. Science Quiz organized by Jidnysa Trust was conducted  in our school, whereby approx.

      80 students from 28  different schools participated in it and students from our school 

      secured 2nd prize in the Quiz contest at district level.

Ø      A film show ‘Mala Jagaycha’ on AIDS was shown for students of Std.VII.

Ø      ‘Importance of trees in relation to environment and pollution’ lecture was arranged by Hariyali for students of Std.V

Ø      First Aid lecture was given by Dr. Bhadkamkar for students of Std VIII.

Ø      A special lecture for students of Std. X was arranged on ‘Learn to handle Stress with Studies’ conducted by Institute for Psychological Health.

Ø      Students of Polytechnic College gave a presentation on Energy Crisis for students of Std.IX.

Ø      Science quiz organised by Jidnyasa Trust was held in our school premises.

Ø      A lecture by Mr. Karandikar on ‘Fun and Adventure with words’ on 31st January 2006 to our students of std. IX

Ø      Mrs. Gohad gave a lecture related to scholarship exam was held for students of Std VII.

Ø      A lecture by Sanyasis from U.P was arranged for the students of Std. VII

Ø      Megha Sanskar classes were conducted in increasing their

 concentration by vyavaharo gau$jaI - for std. IX.

Ø      A film show by TATA Institute on ‘Life Journey of Shri. Tata’.

Ø      Picnic for students of Std.V was arranged at IMAX, Chembur.

Ø      Scouts were the volunteers for Ganesh Visarjan at Masunda Talav.

Ø      Social service camp at Gram Mangal  was arranged for students of Std.VIII.

Ø      Social Service camp for students of Std IX was arranged at Shantivan, Nere.

This club started from June’05. Objectives of this club are to enhance language skills, improve spoken English, to raise vocabulary, to develop interest and love for language, to built up self-confidence amongst pupil, to develop managerial & leadership qualities and to improve their grammar related to their curriculum.

Following sessions and activities were conducted.

            Selection of students for Maths club was on the basis of their performance in the earlier standards. 50 students were selected (10 from Std. V to IX each).

 Geography Club activity started in the month of July’06

-   Students were asked to collect the materials from newspapers and periodicals about the 

     recent geographical happenings and discoveries around the world and get it stuck in their

     scrap books.

-    Club had organized a field trip to Vajreshwari, where students were given a chance to get

     real experience about their natural surroundings. Also students were taken to hot spring,

     water filteration plant, Shimla dairy, Usgaon Dam.

-    Club members and other students of Std V had organized exhibition, exhibiting the physical  

     division of India. Also exhibited few other models which included vegetation of desert

      During the year 2005-2006  Sports Club conducted coaching classes for Chess and Cricket for students of  Std V to IX. Shri Shrikhande Sir and Shri Rane Sir conducted chess coaching classes twice a week and Shri Satish Kulkarni conducted daily Cricket coaching classes on our school stilt. Our school team played many Interschool cricket and chess tournaments. Mast. Abhilesh Gokhale stood 2nd and Mast. Vinit Pitale stood 5th in Interschool chess competition held at S.V.P.T. School, Rabodi.

The Science Club was installed on 30th June 2005. Following activities were taken up by the members :-

-         Science quiz was conducted and the information regarding scientist was read out.

-         A activity of making herbarecum sheets was demonstrated & each chills was told to do 5 sheets of 5 flowering plant.

-         A film on the classification of animals was shown and a game was played on the same.

-         Fish-pond game was played to demonstrate the proper use of renewable natural resources.

-         Students and Teachers attended a workshop regarding ‘Making Scientific toys’ at the Dadoji Kondev stadium organized by Marathi Vidnyan Prishad.

-         Students visited Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education as they had organized an ‘Open House’ on account of ‘Science Day’.

24th  July’2005 – Tree plantation drive was organized at Standard Alkali factory for

        students of Std.  VII and VIII

 

13th August’ 2005 – A lecture was arranged in school for the girls of Std VII by Dr. 

Chaya Bhadkamkar in which they learnt about Family Education and Aids Awareness.

           

26th August’2005 – A lecture was given by Dr. Chaya Bhadkamkar on first aid for

students of Std. VIII

           

5th September’ 2005 – Interactors of Std. VIII presented a skit on ‘Save Our

     Environment’ based on ecological balance at New English

     School. Our senior teacher, Mrs. Aparna Bhole was also

     felicitated by Rotaract Club.

               

22nd to 24th September’ 2005 – A session of Vedic Maths by Mrs. Rajeshwari Sharma

         was arranged for students of Std. VII

 

 

            Our interactors donated a sum of Rs.735/- to the Leprosy Rehabilitation Centre,

           Panvel by collecting money, selling old newspapers of their houses, etc

           

 

23rd January’2006 – A District Conference was held at TMA House, Wagle Estate

 which was attended by the Interact President – Mast. Priyal

 Nagare, Vice President – Miss. Surbhi Kulkarni, Secretary – Miss

 Sherry Parmar and BOD member – Ms. Rutuja Patil. The President

 presented the yearly report on the Interact Club activities.

 

26th January’ 2006 – Interactors participated in the Cricket match ‘Pratishtha 2006’ held
